About Dar

Dar is an international speaker, leadership studies lecturer, business consultant, and entrepreneur, but his greatest joy is his family.

Raised in Grand Rapids, MI, Dar currently resides in Wilmington, NC with his wife Stephanie and two children. He and his wife have been happily married for 8 years. When he's not speaking or teaching, he can be found watching anime or superhero shows with his sons and reality tv with his wife.

In 2014, Dar took a leap of faith and created Good Mayweather Consulting LLC and the #doingthegoodwork brand to pursue his love of speaking and curriculum development. Dar is a first-generation college student, who earned a BS in Criminal Justice and a MS in Education from GVSU, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership form EMU.

As a professional speaker, Dar teaches leaders inclusion strategies so that colleges and university stakeholders can close the gap between their intention and action. He helps organization leaders and students learn and practice inclusive leadership frameworks that equip them with the tools to understand their leadership superpowers, have the confidence to open critical conversations, and take action to create change with peers, supervisors, and more!

As a faculty member, Dar helps students turn their academic opportunities into job opportunities by teaching them how to articulate their natural gifts and talents to industry leaders. He provides activities that help students explore their unique and meaningful leadership experiences. He aims to provide students with a clear path to leadership within their field of study. Dar's teaching makes ALL students believe they are leaders by relieving them of their comparison to others. He uses real-world examples that help students identify their strengths and gifts and reflect on leadership activities that bring them closer to their why.

Dar's eyes were opened to the impact he could have on communities after he became a certified social justice educator through the Social Justice Training Institute (SJTI).  He gets energy from speaking in front of crowds, working one on one with clients, and discussing equitable solutions with organizational leaders. His work helps clients openly question and challenge the status quo, which he believes is the best way to positive organizational change and personal growth.
